Brian Thornton

President/CEO

Since 1992, Brian has worked in many aspects of the premium audit venue from field auditing to consulting and expert witness services. He has compiled work flow and dispute resolution processes within insurance carrier Premium Audit Departments, and has performed audits on a wide array of policies, from small businesses, to large Professional Employer Organizations (PEO’s), to companies such as national cellular service providers, professional sports franchises, large airlines, and large construction and manufacturing companies. Brian formed ISG in 2007 with a focus on providing insurance carriers a premium audit outlet with a higher level of expertise and service than what the market had to offer. Since 2007, Brian has used his subject matter expertise and industry background to assemble a high performance staff of the best premium auditors in the industry. His vision that a Premium Audit fee company could operate on par with many of the insurance carrier audit departments has been a change from the status quo that was long overdue.

Debbie Nevins

Debbie Nevins joined the staff of ISG in March of 2013 bringing with her 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. Debbie’s experience spans from early 1993, when she started working for a vendor while attending college to obtain her AS in Business Administration. During Debbie’s tenure she has been a key contact with several major insurance carriers on dispute resolution, and audit issues all the while gaining an understanding of the premium audit process and application of the manual rules. Debbie came to ISG after spending six years at FCCI in the Southeastern region as an audit tech. While at FCCI Debbie took several insurance courses and obtained her APA designation. Debbie is now on staff at ISG performing scheduling and review functions and enjoying her new surrounding in the nice warm sunshine!

Nancy Fauri

Nancy Fauri joined the staff of ISG in June of 2013. Nancy’s experience with auditing includes administrative assistance for over 20 years with Arthur Andersen LLP. She worked for Gregory, Sharer & Stuart as well as McClanathan, Burg & Associates in the tax departments supporting partners and managers in finalizing tax returns for submission to clients as well as to the Internal Revenue Service. She currently adds value to ISG in maintaining incoming audit requests as well as managing the mail audits workflow process.

LaVon James

LaVon James joined ISG in October 2009 and currently has 38 years experience in the insurance industry. She began her career with St. Paul (now Travelers Insurance) and spent her first 5 years in personal lines policy issuance, rating and assistant underwriter, and then moved into commercial lines for another 5 yrs. in rating and assistant underwriting in professional liability and medical malpractice for physicians and other medical professionals, nursing homes, hospitals and assisted living facilities, as well as writing workers comp, property, crime, auto, etc. for these risks. During this time she obtained her certificate in General Insurance and began CPCU courses. In late 1986, she was promoted to Premium Auditor and audited all lines of St. Paul commercial accounts (WC, general liability, auto and garage liability, professional liability-medical and non-medical) throughout the state of Florida. She was later responsible for hiring and interviewing, as well as reviewing work sent out to fee audit companies within the state of Florida. In 1995, she was hired by Zurich North America as the Florida Sr. Field Auditor and the only auditor representing Zurich in Florida. Within two years, her Zurich territory expanded to include North and South Carolina. When Zurich merged with Maryland Casualty approximately 1998, she was back to auditing in Florida only. In 2003, LaVon was promoted to Premium Audit Regional Construction Specialist for the Southeast. In this role, she acted as liaison between the construction underwriting division and the premium audit department for dispute resolutions, attended monthly underwriting meetings in Orlando, Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte and Jackson, MS, presenting feedback on audit situations on accounts for those offices, was responsible for the audits on all OCIPs/CCIPs Zurich wrote in the Southeast, including attending team meetings with the OCIP property owners and their reps, the broker/OCIP administrator, as well as Zurich’s team of underwriters, claims managers and risk engineers. She also trained several company auditors to handle OCIP project audits, and was later part of a team who traveled to TX for a week to train a group of six newly hired premium auditors. LaVon is now working with ISG doing quality reviews of field auditors’ work before submitting back to carriers, training new auditors, as well as handling an inventory of field audits within a three county radius.

Jessica Welch

Jessica Welch joined the staff of ISG in November of 2014. She was previously working as a field auditor for Builders Insurance Group for 3 years and prior to that worked as a field auditor at AIG for over 2 years. Jessica started in auditing after graduating with a BS in and Accounting and Finance from North Georgia College and State University. Jessica uses her background in both auditing and accounting as one of the in house audit reviewers. Jessica is very analytical and detail oriented which fits an audit reviewer very well. Jessica works from home each day in the North Georgia mountains.
